I didn't plan to build an app. I planned to protect the ocean.

During my time studying marine biology, I fell in love with the sea — and learned exactly how much trouble it's in. According to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization, over a third of the world's fisheries are being harvested at unsustainable levels (and that number keeps rising) while most of us have no idea what's on our plate or where it came from.

I founded Honest Tides because I believe making a difference shouldn't require a science degree. I wanted to build something that makes it easy to find restaurants you can trust — places where the seafood is sourced responsibly and the sustainability claims are real.

No sacrifice. No homework. Just honest information.
